Fax Service

Introduction

The Oystehr Fax Service provides HIPAA-compliant rails for building healthcare fax workflows. It is integrated with the Oystehr FHIR Service so that when you send faxes they are automatically documented in the clinical record.

The Fax Service has two components:

• Onboarding, offboarding, and configuration — Set up your project to enable the service. This will buy a number to onboard the project onto the Fax Service or offboard a project from the Fax Service, releasing the number. You can also check the status of your project's Fax Service configuration.
• Sending faxes — Send faxes. Send faxes using the number assigned to your project.
